Mulled Simple Syrup
Ingredients
240ml Water
200g Sugar
1 Orange peel
8 Cloves
2 Star Anise flowers
1 Cinnamon stick
½ Nutmeg (chopped)
Equipment
Saucepan
Sieve
Cheesecloth
Sterilised bottle
Method
Heat water and sugar in a saucepan until fully dissolved
Add the orange peel and spices to the solution and stir
Bring to just below the boil and simmer gently for 15 minutes
Remove from the heat and allow to cool before straining through a cheesecloth lined sieve into a sterile bottle
Can be store up to 1 month at fridge temperature
