Orange and Ginger Syrup
Ingredients
zest of 1 orange
1 ball stem ginger, chopped, plus 1tsp syrup from the jar
240ml Water
200g sugar
Equipment
Chopping board and knife
Small saucepan
Fine sieve
Sterilised bottle
Method
Heat water and sugar in a saucepan until fully dissolved.
Add the orange peel and ginger to the solution and stir.
Bring to just below the boil and simmer gently for 15 minutes.
Remove from the heat and allow to cool before straining through a cheesecloth lined sieve into a sterile bottle.
Can be store up to 1 month at fridge temperature.
